Overview

Overview

The goal of this University West student project was to single-handedly create a solution that improved the flow of information for new students, ensuring clarity and accessibility within a tight deadline.

Taking on the role of both UX/UI Designer and Front-End Developer, I focused on crafting an intuitive interface and seamless user experience. The project emphasized efficiency and usability while maintaining consistency with University West’s branding. Despite the time constraints, the final solution streamlined communication and provided a more structured and engaging way for new students to access essential information.

What I accomplished

What I accomplished

Despite the tight deadline, I successfully planned, researched, ideated, and developed a service that centralized all essential information in one accessible platform. The intuitive interface streamlined navigation, enabling new students to find the information they needed more efficiently, reducing confusion and the number of questions asked.

Discovery Phase

Developing a deep understanding of the problem I aimed to solve was essential. This included observing user interactions, empathizing with individuals to understand their experiences and motivations and engaging with fellow students to gain insight into their needs and challenges.

  • Researching the current flow of information on University West’s website and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Familiarizing myself with the graphic profile and key components to ensure a seamless experience for new students.

  • Empathizing with students by understanding their experiences, challenges, and needs to create a more user-friendly and accessible information flow.

At this stage of the process, the design phase began, with the first step being the creation of the website in Figma to easily test the functionality concepts and then proceed to code the website using HTML & CSS and deliver a finished product.
